Indoor Air Quality in Houston, TX

Indoor Air Quality built for Houston weather.

Every bit of air in a closed-up Houston house passes through the HVAC system, over and over, all summer long. If the filter is cheap, the coil is dirty, or the system cannot control humidity, the air you breathe carries dust, pollen and that damp, musty smell that shows up after a few humid weeks.

Indoor air quality work is about the air itself, not just its temperature. We look at the filter setup and the return, the condition of the indoor coil and blower, how well the system is pulling moisture out of the air, and whether the ductwork is drawing in dusty attic air through leaks.

From there the fix might be a better filter cabinet, a cleaning, a humidity solution, sealing the return, or simply a system that runs the right cycle length. We handle indoor air quality for homes and for commercial spaces, and we tell you which upgrades will make a difference in your building and which ones will not.

Four steps, no surprises

How a indoor air quality call works

The same process on a single mini split or a commercial rooftop.

  1. Thermal Solutions trailer with new equipment parked outside a home
    STEP 01

    Tell us what is happening

Call or send the quote form with the problem, the address and the kind of system. Emergencies go straight to the phone.

  2. Technician testing an outdoor condenser with a meter
    STEP 02

We measure before we touch it

A technician tests the system on site. Temperatures, pressures, airflow and electrical, so the repair fixes the cause and not the symptom.

  3. Failed capacitor next to the new replacement part
    STEP 03

    You get the number first

The estimate is free. You hear what we found and what it costs before any work starts.

  4. Finished ductless condenser install with a clean line set
    STEP 04

We fix it and prove it

The work gets done, the system gets tested again, and we do not leave until it is running right.

Indoor Air Quality FAQ

Indoor Air Quality questions, answered.

What humidity level should my Houston home be at?

Indoors, roughly 40 to 55 percent relative humidity is the comfortable range. Above about 60 percent, mold and dust mites thrive and the house feels sticky even at a low thermostat setting.

Can my air conditioner make indoor air quality worse?

Yes. A dirty coil, a loose filter, or return ducts pulling attic air can circulate dust and moisture through every room. Fixing those usually improves the air more than any add-on gadget.

How often should I change my AC filter in Houston?

Standard 1 inch filters every one to three months, more often with pets or during heavy pollen. Thicker media filters in a proper cabinet can last six months or more.

Do you do indoor air quality for businesses?

Yes. We work on commercial systems as well as homes.
